About First Love Church

First Love Church is a dynamic nondenominational family of believers based in New Jersey USA.

We follow the model of the original church described in the book of Acts 2:42-47, Acts 5:42

The church is intended to be a close family, extremely relational and loving, with an intense love for God and for one another, understanding that we all fell short from the glory of God, and we all need to repent and be forgiven from our sins. Now, through the love demonstrated by Jesus Christ death on the cross, we are able to show also this love because we were first loved. (Luke 7:47, 1 John 4:19)

We believe that the church was founded in four pillars that are largely ignored in the modern settings today.

1. The Apostle Teachings - The word of God with focus on the full Gospel.
2. Fellowship - Frequent gatherings (not just once a week), where we share our love for Jesus and experience the love for one another.
3. Breaking of Bread - We proclaim the Lord's triumphant death and resurrection and eagerly wait for His return.
4. Prayers - We pray daily together, for we understand this is the way to communicate with our Father and to keep a close relationship with Him.

Faith

Our beliefs are based on the Bible and centered on Jesus Christ. Our mission is very simple: to connect people to the love and restoration of God through a relationship with Jesus Christ. That means we're not about a building or some complicated religious system, but about helping people from all backgrounds discover the joy that comes from knowing and serving Jesus Christ. It is such a pleasure to spend time together, seeking God through His Word, through prayer, through deep and intimate worship, and through connecting with the family of God! At every gathering, we expect and look forward to seeing how God will move in our midst!

Family

We would love for you to join one of our worship gatherings! We know that going to a new church can be a little intimidating, so we do our best to create an atmosphere where you'll feel welcome and not like an outsider. When you come, you can participate or just sit back and observe. If you come a little early, you can grab a cup of coffee or tea, and one of our homemade baked goods! There is guaranteed to be somebody from First Love who will want to enjoy one with you and chat before the gathering officially starts.

At First Love Church we value the WHOLE family and we believe that children need to have an encounter with Jesus just as much as the adults do. That's because children are not only the future of the church; they are the church NOW! Every Sunday we provide children's ministries alongside our worship gatherings for children ages 12 weeks to 14 years old. The children enjoy a fun and friendly environment with age-appropriate Bible teaching, worship, prayer, snacks, activities, dancing, art, and more!

Leadership

First Love Church is guided by a leadership team who provide overall direction to the church based on the vision God has given. The leaders of First Love watch over the spiritual needs of the church. It is the goal of every leader at First Love Church to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ by living the Word of God. They are devoted to serving Jesus by sharing God's love with our local community. First Love Church is blessed to have a leadership team who understand that being a leader in the church does not mean having an important title; it means that you see a need in God's family, and you are willing to take the lead in filling that need.

God made a promise in the Bible that if we seek after Him, we'll find Him. You are a very valuable part of God's creation, and His deep desire is to be in a loving relationship with you. So come and join us as we pursue God together!
